Hi Students!
The focus of today's class will be to review the requirements and expectations for the Diagnostic Analysis Essay Assignment (which is one of the Major Assignments for this course).
In order to have a better understanding, we will discuss the importance of having an outline and we will practice how to best develop one. Specifically, we will use the follow resources:
1. Diagnostic Analysis Outline Guide. This handout includes guidelines about the information you should include in your own Diagnostic Analysis Essay and you should try to organize your writing. Please take a close look at the PIE structure in the body paragraphs.
2. Diagnostic Sample Paragraph. Take some minutes to read this paragraph. After, pair up with a classmate and create an outline taking into consideration its PIE structure. If you prefer, you can highlight the PIE in different colors (as we have previously done in other classes) before doing the outline.
3. Diagnostic Outline Template. This document is a template you should complete for your Diagnostic Analysis Essay. The IE parts of the body paragraphs may change depending on the information you choose.
Homework: Complete your outline by the next class period.
